Nikita Kushwah, a resilient 22-year-old, found herself at a crossroads after completing her ITI. With a strong desire to contribute to her family’s income, she enrolled in our Youth Entrepreneurship Program, focusing on tailoring. Hailing from a financially challenged background, Nikita faced numerous hurdles, including the inability to afford a sewing machine.
Undeterred by challenges, Nikita completed her training, emerging with a newfound skill set. However, the lack of resources posed a barrier to turning her skills into a sustainable business. Fortunately, with the support of an NGO facilitated by our program’s mentor, Nikita acquired a sewing machine, a pivotal step in her journey toward self-reliance.
Now equipped with the necessary tools, Nikita provides tailoring and stitching services to local businesses and women in her village. Her entrepreneurial spirit doesn’t stop at personal success; she envisions a community where all girls are self-reliant. Nikita passionately shares her skills and knowledge, aiming to empower others in her locality.
Through our program, Nikita not only learned the basics of business management but also received support in establishing market linkages. This assistance proved instrumental in securing orders from local shops, creating a sustainable stream of income for Nikita.
Nikita Kushwah’s story is a testament to the transformative impact of the Youth Entrepreneurship Program. From overcoming financial challenges to providing a vision for others in her community, she exemplifies how skills, mentorship, and support can stitch dreams into reality.
